From Arrival to Adventure: What It’s Really Like in the Dominican Republic
Travel Manager Danielle tells us abour her First Trip to the Dominican Republic- and why it surpassed every expectation:
Looking back on my time in the Dominican Republic still gives me chills. From the day we set off to the very warm welcome when we landed. The boat excursion was unforgettable- gliding over unbelievably clear, warm turquoise water. Then, jumping in to snorkel among fish so close I could almost reach out and touch them.

Another highlight of the trip was the Chic Cabaret show. It is an absolute must! The moment the show began, it was completely spellbinding. There were outstanding performances in breathtaking costumes, and a buzzing atmosphere that had the entire audience hooked. The immersive elements blended with music and dance made it far more than a typical show- it felt like a full experience. If you’re staying in the DR, this is something you simply can’t miss. A perfect mix of glamour, high energy and exceptional talent all brought together in one place.

Taking a trip like this is incredibly valuable for travel agents. There’s simply no substitute for experiencing a destination firsthand. Meeting the resort teams and building those relationships helps us craft more seamless, personalised trips for our clients. Seeing everything through a guest’s eyes makes all the difference.

Fully immersing myself in the destination was such a joy. It was my first visit to the Dominican Republic, and it surpassed every expectation. From its postcard-perfect beaches and peaceful dive spots to its luxury resorts, rich culture, great food and famous rum (!) it truly has it all. And yes, I can absolutely recommend trying a piña colada, rum punch & mamajuana while you’re there.

As this was all about learning, our schedule was packed. In just seven days we explored different hotels and resorts. Each one offered something unique; catering to solo travellers, couples (including a fantastic adults-only option), families, groups, and those looking for high-end, signature experiences.
The Dominican Republic really does have something for everyone. If you're considering the DR for your next holiday, please get in touch and I will be happy to answer any questions."
