The Solheim Cup 2026 will take place in the Netherlands, at the Bernardus GC, accessible from Amsterdam Schiphol or Eindhoven airports. Shandon Travel is proud to be appointed as an official tour operator in Ireland, so you can book your trip with confidence with us.
Our golf expert Michael went there on an inspection trip last October. Read his blog for an overview and recommendations:

"I flew into Amsterdam from Cork and took the train to Eindhoven, even though there are also direct flight options from Dublin to Eindhoven. The easy journey takes over an hour in pleasant scenery. We can take care of booking rail tickets for you.
I stayed in central Eindhoven, just minutes’ walk from the train station. We have various hotel options available there- just contact us for details. Remember, you won’t be spending much time in the hotel. It's also possible to stay in Amsterdam and take the train each day.
A few minutes’ walk from the hotel we stayed in is Dommelstraat street. It’s famous for having lots of international restaurants close together- Turkish, Italian, French and Mexican, along with lots of Asian and South American options. There are great American and Argentinian steak houses along with tapas options. You can also pop in for a pint or meal at the Trafalgar Pub or the Irish pub, O'Shea's.
We dined in Restaurant Fling (where French meets Asian) and it was excellent. We were delighted to meet the very friendly proprietor and her chef husband. But make sure to book in advance for all restaurants! You can also take excursions to Tilbury, Breda and Utrecht. We'll have various hotel options available there too- just contact us for details.

To get to the golf in Bernardus is easy. From Eindhoven, you take a train to Den Bosch from where a constant free shuttle service to the golf course will be available. Cars, private transfers and taxis are not allowed as access to the club is up a narrow avenue. Being the Netherlands, the countryside is level and cycling from Eindhoven or Den Bosch is possible and even encouraged.
Den Bosch is the nearest city to where the competition takes place, but available accommodation will be limited there. However, this small city will be the main hub for the free shuttle service. We'll also be able to source great accommodation in Eindhoven, Tilbury, Breda and Utrecht- all with those great transport links- for hitting the golf course or a day trip!
The excellent Bernardus golf course is very level and very walkable. The clubhouse is luxurious, including a restaurant with a Michelin-starred chef (book with us well in advance!). We played the course and it is very playable for golfers of all levels. As an appointed tour operator, we can arrange golf on the course before or after the Solheim Cup, or rounds at other courses in the area.

Overall, we all are so used to golfing in the Costa del Sol, Algarve and at home that intitally the Netherlands may not seem attractive. So be prepared for a new and very satisfying experience. It will all be so easy and mixed with Dutch friendliness, ease of getting to the course with free shuttle services, a lovely clubhouse and easy-to-walk course.
Combine this with the possibility to explore other parts of the Netherlands/ Europe by train, and even enjoy golf on some of other great courses in the region... then you can be sure you're in for an enjoyable memory-making trip. The competitiveness of the Solheim Cup competition itself will of course add its own atmosphere to what will be an outstanding experience and hopefully a European win!"
