Jackie from Shandon Travel's cruise team was lucky enough to be invited to the launch of Royal Caribbean's newest ship Anthem Of The Seas. Here's her account of this fantastic new ship. On 20th April 2015 Royal Caribbean hosted a spectacular naming ceremony onboard the world’s most innovative ship, Anthem of the Seas in Southampton. Shandon Travel's Michael Doorley and his wife Maria, Laura O'Donovan and myself Jackie Coakley from the Cruise Team were some of the lucky Irish Travel Trade to be invited on board for this spectacular event. The ceremony was led by Godmother of the Anthem, Emma Wilby. Emma is a British travel agent who was selected for the honor in a singing competition for travel agents. Royal Caribbean have truly pushed the boundaries of technology & innovation with this ship from a 300ft high viewing capsule North Star, to a skydiving simulator RipCord by iFly, a Bionic Bar ,World-class dining and spectacular entertainment with Spectra's Cabaret, an extravaganza of lights and music and the West End production of We Will Rock You in the Royal Theatre. The whole experience was fantastic and it was great to get a small taste of what we can offer our clients for the future.
