Sara and Barry have recently returned from their Honeymoon in Costa Rica and had the time of their lives. Check out how they got on...

“For our honeymoon, we thought we should perhaps splash out on a bit more comfort, but still see somewhere really different,” explains Sara. And so they sought the advice of Jackie Coakley, long-haul expert at Shandon Travel. “Really, she couldn’t have been more helpful. She talked it all through with us, established the kind of things we preferred doing, what we’d like to see on this big trip. Then she suggested Costa Rica, as she felt it would be ideal for people like us. And I have to say it was the best trip we’ve ever had. We had a full printed itinerary with every detail on it, we were booked into three completely different locations, we were picked up and transported from one to the other with no delays at all.”

Once they had booked, confesses Sara, she was in and out, on and off the phone to Jackie for months, as she thought of questions she hadn’t asked, advice she hadn’t sought, whether it be currency or climate, health or high points to see. “It didn’t matter what it was, we got all we needed to know and more. She was a mine of information!”

Thanks to all that professional planning, everything went swimmingly. “We were met when we arrived at San Jose airport and taken to a lovely hotel overnight. Then we went to Conchal Beach on the north coast for our fi rst stay. It was an allinclusive resort, so exotic, and real luxury. After a few days relaxing there, it was on to the cloud forest at Monteverde which was amazing. And fi nally we stayed at Manuel Antonio with its wonderful wild beaches and National Park. The birds, the animals, the scenery – and especially the wonderfully friendly people – were unforgettable. At every place, we felt we would have liked to stay on there longer!

We’re certainly going to use Shandon Travel for making all our arrangements, wherever we go in the future.”
