Barcelona's Districts At A Glance

Gràcia

  • Diverse and vibrant, with a relaxed and bohemian village-like atmosphere.
  • Outside the busiest part of the city, it's a mix of hipsters and families, with fewer tourists and more locals around.
  • Leafy squares and narrow winding pedestrianised streets make it the perfect place to explore on your down time. Beautiful Plaça de la Virreina, framed by lights and trees, is a beautiful spot to enjoy tapas late into the evening
  • The famous Park Guell is located in this part of the city.

Les Corts

  • Most famous as the location of Camp Nou- home to FB Barcelona
  • Great restaurants, tapas bars and nightclubs. Lots of big-name and designer shopping.
  • There are a number of beautiful garden squares and parks, like Plaça de Comas, Maternitat gardens and the sustainability-focused Parc de Can Rigal.
  • Les Corts lies between several other districts- walk to historic Eixample in 30min, and to Plaza España in 15.

Gótico

  • The Gothic Quarter is the historic centre of Barcelona's old city, home to Roman Walls and medieval landmarks.
  • Full of narrow, winding streets and peaceful squares- great spots to catch some sun and people watch.
  • A great spot for shopping, from the boutiques on Calle Avinyo to the big-brand stores on Calle Portal de L'Angel.
  • Don't forget to look up as you stroll around the labyrinth like streets- the beautiful buildings never fail to delight.

Port Vell

  • A waterfront area of Barcelona, totally redeveloped ahead of the 1992 Olympic Games.
  • The harbour blends old and new, with historic sights like the old customs house and Columbus statue.
  • Home to the large shopping and leisure complex Maremagnum, one of the only shopping areas in the city to regularly open on Sunday.
  • Known for sandy beaches and boardwalk lined with great restaurants and clubs- sample fantastic fresh fish, paella and tapas until the wee hours.
