This self-drive program is aimed at animal lovers who want the best opportunity to view magnificent African animals. Enjoy plenty of safaris and sanctuary visits for your maximum chance to spot them.

Fly from Dublin to Windhoek and pick up your rental car upon arrival . Transfer directly from the airport North. Okonjima Nature Reserve, in the heart of Namibia, is in a Malaria-free area midway between Windhoek and Etosha National Park. This 20 000ha nature reserve, which is surrounded by the sandstone Omboroko. It is also home to The AfriCat Foundation, which is renowned for its conservation work with predators across Namibia.

Enjoy the rest of the day free at leisure at your lodge to relax after your flight, or ask staff for optional excursions that you could enjoy during your short stay.

After breakfast the next morning transfer to Etosha National Park Showcasing some of the most common and rarest wildlife species, Etosha offers visitors unforgettable sightings of free roaming wildlife. Experience the contrasts of wide grasslands, Camelthorn and Mopani trees with an enormous salt pan covering 4731km2; so big it can be seen from space.

Being the 3rd largest game park in Africa, Etosha is a must for your travel list. Upon arrival at your lodge enjoy the rest of day free at leisure. 

Transfering from Etosha East side to Etosha South gate on day 3, you enjoy a full day Safari in search of all the African animals. Etosha National Park is unique in Africa. There is abundant wildlife that congregates around the waterholes, giving you almost guaranteed game sightings. At the same time Etosha is one of the most accessible game reserves in Namibia and Southern Africa.

The areas with thicker vegetation are home to elephant (some of the largest in Africa due to the vitamins and nutrients found in the ground), the endangered black rhino and even leopard. Lions are camouflaged in the pale-golden colour of the grasslands, while giraffes rise high above most of the dry vegetation. Birders will love the experience, where more than 340 bird species have been counted in Etosha National Park.

Of the migratory species, the European bee-eater is possibly the most popular sighting. The game reserve is also home to the world’s largest bird, the ostrich, and the heaviest flying bird, the kori bustard You can enjoy lunch mid way through the park, and upon arrival at your lodge enjoy the evening free at leisure.

The afternoon is free at leisure. Use the day to relax by the pool, sit at the waterhole or book another optional (not included) open-truck safari.

Transfer from Etosha to Palmwag A paradise on the Uniab River in northwest Damaraland – a vacation opportunity with a difference. Waving palms whispering in the wind, spectacular surroundings which harbour the famous desert elephant, the rare dessert adapted black rhino, giraffe, zebra, gemsbok and many other wild animal species and sunsets to dream of.

This is Palmwag Lodge, one of Namibia's oldest and most popular tourist destination. The predator population is the largest outside of the Etosha National Park, with over 100 lions, cheetah, leopard, brown and spotted hyena. Bird life is prolific and diverse with most of Namibia's endemics present. This concession supports a healthy population of desert adapted black rhino and elephants.

Enjoy today at leisure in Palmwag, or ask lodge staff for recommended optional excursions for you to book at your own leisure on spot.

The next day's destination is Twyfelfontein Untamed and rugged, Damaraland is one of Namibia’s most scenic attractions. Highlights include Namibia’s highest mountain, the Brandberg or ‘Burnt Mountain’ most famous for the rock painting of the White Lady’; Twyfelfontein with thousands of bushman rock paintings and of course Rhino & Desert Elephant tracking, truly magnificent and majestic creatures who adapted to survive in the harsh desert conditions.

Depending on what time you arrive at the lodge, ask lodge staff about optional excursions if interested. 

From Swakopmund drive to Erindi private game reserve. Erindi Private Game Reserve is a 79000ha gem in the heart of the Namibian landscape with an abundance of wildlife including rare and endangered species. Erindi is actively involved in leopard research, eco-friendly and boosts spectacular lodge and camping facilities. Camp Elephant is built in a horse-shoe shape with a floodlit waterhole in the center.

Whether you are camping or lodging in one of the fully equipped chalets, you are never more than 50 meters away from the waterhole. Then there is the Old Traders Lodge, elegant and spacious with all the comforts you can dream of overlooking one of many well frequented waterholes. An absolute must visit during your travels in Namibia.

In the morning on day 9 enjoy a true Safari Game Drive in an open truck In the afternoon enjoy a relaxing time at your lodge, and sit by the waterhole where the animals frequently come by for a drink. 

Sadly the following day is the end of your Namibia adventure. Drive to Windhoek for your departure flight to Dublin.
