Day 1 Arrive Colombo
Upon arrival you will be met and transferred to your hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 2 To Kandalama (170 Kms / 5 Hrs)
After breakfast transfer from Colombo to Pinnawala to visit the Elephant Orphanage. After the orphanage transfer from Pinnawala to Dambulla. Dambulla rock temple was built by King Walagambahu in the 1st century B.C. and it is a World Heritage Site. It is the most impressive of Sri Lanka's cave temples. Finally transfer from Dambulla to Kandalama. (B)
Day 3 In Kandalama
After breakfast transfer from Kandalama to Anuradhapura. Anuradhapura was the first capital and undoubtedly the grandest city of the ancient Ceylon. It is the home of two World Heritage Sites. Afternoon visit to Mihintale where Budhism originated in Sri Lanka. Overnight at hotel in Kadalama. (B)
Day 4 In Kandalama
After breakfast transfer from Kandalama to Polonnaruwa. Polonnaruwa was the 2nd capital city of Sri Lanka built in the 11th and 12th century AD, and is a world heritage site. Here you can see the ruins of the Royal Palace, the Gal Viharaya where 4 splendid statues of the Buddha in 'Upright', 'Sedentry' and 'Recumbant' postures carved out of rock could be seen. Transfer from Polonnaruwa to Sigiriya. Climb the 5th century Sigiriya rock fortress which is a world heritage site, built by King Kashyapa (477-495 AD). The 'Lion Rock' is a citadel of unusual beauty rising 200 metres from the scrub jungle. Transfer from Sigiriya to Kandalama. Overnight at hotel.
Day 5 To Kandy (85 Kms / 2 Hrs)
Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer from Kandalama to Matale. Visit a spice garden in Matele to see different spices for which Sri Lanka is famous for. Witness a Cookery demonstration. Transfer from Matale to Kandy. Overnight at hotel. (B)
Day 6 In Kandy
Breakfast at the hotel. Tranfer from Kandy to Peradeniya. Peradeniya botanical garden was first built as a pleasure garden by a Sinhala king and was expanded by the British. It is 147 acres in extent and provides an amazing variety of trees, plants and flowers. Transfer from Peradeniya to Kandy. Overnight at hotel. (B)
Day 7 To Nuwara Eliya (76 Kms / 2 Hrs)
Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer from Kandy and visit a tea plantation and a tea factory, where the best tea in the world is produced. Transfer from Tea Plantation to Nuwara Eliya. Nuwara Eliya has an invigorating mountain climate and scenery and is Sri Lanka's most popular hill resort. Transfer from Nuwara Eliya to Kandapola. (approx 10kms). Overnight at hotel. (B)
Day 8 To Kandapola
Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer from Kandapola to Hakgala and a visit to the Hakgala Botanical Gardens. Transfer from Hakgala to Kandapola. Overnight at hotel. (B)
Day 9 To Yala (205 Kms / 5 Hrs)
Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer from Kandapola to Nuwara Eliya to Yala. Overnight at hotel. (B)
Day 10 In Yala
Breakfast at the hotel followed by a safari of the Yala national park by jeep. Yala is the largest national park in Sri Lanka and home to wild elephants, wild boars, wild buffalo, leopards, bears, deers and crocodiles. Overnight at hotel. (B)
Day 11 To Galle (189 Kms / 2.5 Hrs)
Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer from Yala to Galle. Overnight at hotel. (B)
Day 12 In Galla
Galle was once the chief port of Ceylon. It is still well known for hand-made lace. You can also visit the Galle Fort (spanning 90 acres) which was originally built by the Portuguese and later extended by the Dutch in 1663. This is a world heritage Site. Transfer from Galle to Balapitiya by boat. Here you could see the villagers taking part in their day to day activities. Transfer from Balapitiya to Galle. Overnight at hotel. (B)
Day 13 Depart Colombo
You will be transferred to the airport for your onward flight. (B)
