Board the luxurious, iconic Queen Mary 2 in Hamburg, and set sail on an eight-night cruise to the stunning Norwegian Fjords. In addition, two-Michelin-starred chef Michel Roux will bring his exclusive Le Gavroche residency at sea to this sailing. This is a bucket list experience, with the best of accommodations and world-class service.
In partnership with the Norwegian Seafood Council, the exclusive series begins aboard Cunard’s flagship Queen Mary 2 for her sailing to Hardangerfjord on 2 June, and again for her Hamburg roundtrip Fjords voyage on 6 August. That same month, Michel will deliver another intimate, five-night takeover on board Cunard’s newest ship Queen Anne as she departs for Stavanger in Norway on 11 August. A further residency on Queen Anne will take place on 1 September.
Each evening, guests will be treated to a five-course tasting menu infused with all the flavours of the sea, elegantly finessed using the very best produce. During these voyages, Michel will also appear as an Insight Speaker in the Royal Court Theatre.
There will be an additional charge for this special event. For more information or to book, fill in the enquiry form below or chat to your cruise agent: email us at email@example.com.
Seventy miles from the sea, on the Elbe River in northern Germany, Hamburg is the second largest port city in Europe and one of Germany’s most cosmopolitan, dynamic and fascinating destinations. The city has some 2,000 plus bridges - more than Venice and Amsterdam combined, earning Hamburg the moniker the ‘Venice of the North’.
You have Kaiser Wilhelm II to thank for the city of Alesund's wonder. He rebuilt his beloved gateway in Art Nouveau style after it was destroyed by fire in 1904. Lose your heart in this gem of the Nordic coast. Today, its buildings feature dreamy turrets and ornate carvings of dragons and mythical figures. Nature has played its part too, as calm waters and distant snow-capped peaks add to the charm.
Not far from the idyllic Andalsnes, you’ll locate a unique curiosity: the ‘Troll Wall’, which features immense grassy cliffs forming Europe's highest vertical mountain face. An amazing natural wonder. A steady climb of the ‘Troll Ladder’ entails a zigzagging road of hairpin bends on the steep mountainside, revealing spectacular valley views as you near the thundering Stigfossen Waterfall.
In Romsdalsfjord, explore a region of deep blue fjords, rolling emerald hills, crashing waterfalls and jagged, snow-capped mountains, which are interspersed with charming villages Vikings once ruled.
When you reluctantly depart from this peaceful village of the picturesque Nordfjord, you'll no doubt have some breathtaking and unforgettable scenes etched into your memory, and your camera roll too.
Giant waterfalls cascade the mountains, mineral-rich Lake Lovatn glints with a milky turquoise sheen and the Kjenndalen Glacier reveals a green-tinged glow.
Earning its unofficial title of ‘Mother Nature’s Wonderland’, Innvikfjorden is one of the best-known fjords in Norway. Gently stretching across 4.5 kilometres, a cruise through these tranquil waterways on a Cunard Queen offers a constant stream of scenic views to admire.
Whether you choose to admire the passing views while strolling your ship’s deck or tucked under a blanket in the privacy of your stateroom’s balcony, your sail-by of the Nordfjord is guaranteed to deliver some of the most memorable scenery you’ll experience on your Norway cruise.
Your fascinating ‘Gateway to the Fjords’ is Norway’s second-largest city, Bergen. Its maritime trade and oil industry remain vital to the economy and it’s a thriving epicentre of culture and history.
Visit the old quays of Bryggen, a World Heritage Site, and the medieval wooden houses of the city’s waterfront. You can even take a peek inside the workshops of local painters, weavers and craftsmen.
