Ports of call: Southampton, England; Bilbao, Spain; La Coruna, Spain; Vigo, Spain; Gijon, Spain; Southampton, England
Fly from Dublin, Cork or Shannon and board the Independence Of The Seas in Southampton for a seven-night cruise to Northern Spain. This great value package includes flights, baggage, transfers & gratuities.
Visit beautiful Vigo in northern Spain, before continuing to the wonderful Basque city of Bilbao, and the Galician city of La Coruña. Your next port will be the hidden gem of Vigo, home to some of the world's best seafood.
Next, cruise to Gijon, a perfect blend of natural beauty and rich Asturian culture before heading north to Southampton where your cruise holiday comes to an end.
Discover Southampton’s maritime history at the SeaCity Museum or see impressive works in the city’s art gallery. Jane Austen used to walk Southampton’s city walls and you can too, stopping at the Tudor House Museum along the way. Go all nostalgic over vintage cars at the National Motor Museum at Beaulieu or see King Arthur’s fabled Round Table at nearby Winchester, the ancient capital of England.
The sun will shine upon you as you enter the harbor of Vigo, the largest city in Spain's autonomous Galicia region. Start your adventure by ascending the Castro Fortress — you can take in views of the city and the lushly forested mountains around it from these granite-walled 17th-century fortifications. Then, learn up about the region at one of Vigo's excellent museums: Museo do Mar Galicia features exhibits on the local oceanography and ecosystems, while the Vigo Museum of Contemporary Art hosts a changing lineup of participatory workshops and installations by innovative artists working today.
Art and architecture have revitalised Bilbao, where the striking titanium curves of the Guggenheim Museum, designed by pioneering architect Frank Gehry, attract visitors from all over the world. In Casco Viejo, Bilbao’s atmospheric old town, you can explore quirky shops and boisterous bars while nearby you can discover the stunning landscapes of the Basque country and its delicious Rioja wine.
Buzz with the nightlife and café culture of bustling La Coruna in Galicia, or enjoy its splendid beaches. Be wow’ed by the Roman lighthouse, the Tower of Hercules, the oldest working lighthouse in the world, or discover the Paseo Maritimo, a 13km bike and hiking path skirting the stunning coastline. Nearby, follow the steps of pilgrims in romantic Santiago de Compostela, one of Spain’s most celebrated cities.
Seek bolder thrills on your next vacation.
There’s a firm NO to FOMO onboard Independence of the Seas®. Hang ten on the FlowRider® surf simulator. Go head to head in a glow-in-the-dark laser tag clash in Battle for Planet Z®. And score game-changing grub at Playmakers℠ Sports Bar & Arcade. From next-level thrills to lowkey chill, celebrate each day at sea exactly how you want.
