The Buddhist Pilgrimage encompasses visiting places that still echo with the sacred chants of Buddhism. The teachings of Buddha or ‘The Enlightened One’ emphasized peace, meditation and universal harmony. A visit to the holy river Ganges is also a part of the tour. This religious circuit explores the places that were once the stronghold of Buddhism.

Day : 1  Arrive Delhi
On late arrival in Delhi your tour guide will transfer you to your hotel for a stay of two nights.  

Day : 2  In Delhi
Enjoy a combined full day guided sightseeing tour of Old and New Delhi. Morning tour of Old Delhi includes a drive past the Red Fort and a visit to the Jama Masjid, the largest mosque in Asia and the Raj Ghat, the simple but moving memorial to Mahatma Gandhi. Afternoon tour of New Delhi includes the Qutab Minar, the astonishing victory tower built in the early 13th century, the tomb of the Mughal Emperor Humayun and a drive past the imposing India Gate (War Memorial Arch), the Parliament buildings and the Rashtrapathi Bhawan (the President's residence). (B) 

Day : 3  To Varanasi 
Early morning flight to Varanasi (approx 1.5 hrs) better known as Kashi. On arrival you will be transferred to your hotel for an overnight stay. That afternoon visit the Buddhist site at Sarnath. Later in the evening explore the bustling markets and observe the rituals on the ghats of the holy river Ganges. (B) 

Day : 4  To Bodhgaya  (242 kms / 6 hrs) 
Early morning boat ride along the ghats absorbing the morning rituals and offerings to the first rays of the rising sun. Following breakfast drive to Bodhgaya for a two-night stay. (B) 

Day : 5  In Bodhgaya
Enjoy a morning tour visiting the famous Chankamana (Jewel Walk), Bodhi Tree, Maha Bodhi Temple, Bodhi Sarovar and the local museum which contains a collection of stone sculptures and other artefacts. The rest of the day is at leisure. (B)

Day : 6  To Patna (109 kms / 4 ½ hrs)   
Following breakfast drive to Patna and en-route visit Rajgir, the ancient capital of the Magadha Kings. Both Buddha and Lord Mahavira spent many years here, making it an important pilgrim site. Continue to Nalanda the site of the world famous ruins of Nalanda University. Founded in the 5th century A.D. Nalanda is known as the ancient seat of learning where teachers and students from all over the Buddhist world lived and studied. Onwards to Patna where you transfer to your hotel for an overnight stay. (B)

Day : 7  To Kushinagar  (253 kms / 6 hrs)    
Following breakfast drive to Kushinagar and en-route visit Vaishali, a quiet hamlet steeped in legend which holds special significance for Buddhist devotees. Continue to Kushinagar the place that the Buddha chose for his Mahaparinirvana, or final exit from this earth. Arrive and check into your hotel for an overnight stay. In the afternoon visit various stupas and temples. Overnight at hotel. (B) 

Day : 8  To Lumbini (91 kms / 3 hrs)     
Following breakfast drive to Lumbini, the birthplace of Buddha. Lumbini is the mecca for all Buddhists, being one of the four holy places of Buddhism. On arrival check into your hotel for an overnight stay. In the afternoon visit the prime attractions which include the sacred garden, the Mayadevi Temple, the Ashokan Pillar and Puskarni, the sacred pond wherein Mayadevi is said to have had taken a bath just before giving birth to Buddha. (B) 

Day : 9  To Sravasti  (225 kms / 5 ½ hrs)   
Morning drive to Sravasti and transfer to your hotel for an overnight stay. Sravasti had the honour of sheltering Buddha for 25 rainy seasons in the Jetvana Gardens. The city believed to be founded by the mythological king
Sravast, has age-old stupas, majestic monasteries and several temples. This holy place also has the famous Anand Bodhi tree, said to have been planted by Buddha's main disciple - Anand. The afternoon spent visiting various Buddhist attractions. (B) 

Day : 10  Depart Delhi
Transfer to the Lucknow airport and fly to Delhi to connect with your international flight back home or for your internal flight to your resort destination. (B)
