The most beautiful, oldest and internationally acclaimed Budapest Christmas fair is the Christmas Market on Vorosmarty Square in the heart of the city.

You will find beautiful quality handcrafts, and special Hungarian Delicacies (e.g Chimney Cake) at the Budapest Basilica Christmas Fair in St Stephen’s Square. This market includes a spectacular Christmas Laser Projection onto the Basilica. Budapest's Christmas Markets have won a variety of awards over the years, marking this one out as a wonderful destiination for festive breaks.

This year, Budpest's Christmas Markets at Vörösmarty Square and St. Stephen’s Basilica (Advent) are expected to run from mid-November to January. Some smaller locations may close from December 24th. We recommend checking specific dates and events locally.
