Berlin is a dynamic and cosmopolitan city and is ranked as one of Europe’s most exciting destinations.
Enjoy three-nights in the vibrant cosmopolitan city of Berlin and immerse yourself in the cities rich cultural history. During your stay, you will enjoy an evening concert performance by the Berlin Philharmonic conducted by Sir Simon Rattle.
Berlin comes alive during the Christmas season and there are more than 50 markets spread around the city, offering something for everyone.
The four-star Wyndham Berlin Excelsior is located in the centre of Berlin, within walking distance of the famous shopping boulevard Kurfurstendamm.
Guestrooms are equipped with air-conditioning, flat screen & pay TV, WLAN, telephone and minibar. A spacious lobby, the hotel bar and two restaurants invite guests to stay.
Parking is also available in both of the hotel's car parks, one of which is underground. Subway, tram and city bus connections are all found in the immediate vicinity.
The Zoological Garden, Europa Center, Victory Column, KaDeWe department store and many more interesting sights are easily reached on foot.
Day 1
Your tour will start with a morning flight to Berlin. Flying with Aer Lingus, flight departs Dublin at 07:00 and arrives into Berlin airport at 10:20.
On arrival in Berlin, meet your local guide for private coach transfer to the 4* Excelsior Hotel where you are booked for three-nights on a bed & breakfast basis. This evening is at your leisure. Perhaps try dinner in your hotel or sample one of Berlin’s many local restaurants.
Day 2
This afternoon, join your local guide for your Highlights of Berlin city tour of Berlin. See the city sights including Charlottenburg Palace, Checkpoint Charlie, the Branderburg Gate, Unter den Linden, Potdamer Platz and the Reichstag Building. Your tour will finish at the glittering Berlin Christmas Markets where you can truly get into the festive spirit.
Enjoy the afternoon at leisure before attending the highlight of your stay in Berlin – a performance by The Berlin Philharmonic conducted by Sir Simon Rattle. The Berlin Philharmonic is consistently ranked as one of the best orchestras in the world and this evening a wonderful performance awaits you. Tickets for the concerts sell out extremely fast and we have been lucky enough to secure tickets for this concert evening.
Meet your fellow travellers for a two-course pre-performance dinner in the FRANKE Brasserie in your hotel and afterwards transfer by private coach to the Philharmonie for concert performance. (seats are located on the first balcony opposite the conductor, block B row 4 & 5)

Day 3
Today you have the day free to explore Berlin at your leisure. Perhaps see the city sights or indulge in some more Christmas shopping at the Christmas Markets. Five of the most popular Berlin Christmas Markets are:

- Kaiser-Wilhelm-Gedachtniskirche
- Traditional Spandau Christmas Market
- Charlottenburg Palace
Day 4
Today, you have the morning and afternoon free for last minute sightseeing or shopping.
In the early evening, meet your local guide for coach transfer to airport for return flight. Flight departs Berlin at 19:00 and arrives Dublin 20:20 (please note that flight times are subject to change at airline’s discretion)

Potsdam Tour – Royal Paradise and 1945 Conference Venue
Potsdam lies just outside of Berlin. This beautiful town was the home of Prussia’s royalty, and is filled with the parks and palaces of Prussians kings, princes, and German Emperors.
Our walking tour leads you through exquisite parks to the sites of Schloss Glienicke, Babelberg Castle, and the Marble Palace, built by the king Friedrich Wilhelm II, who earned the unfortunate nickname ‘the fat and useless’. The tour also goes into Potsdam’s city centre, where you can take in 18th century Dutch quarter, the gothic revival Nauen Gate, and Potsdam’s own Brandenburg Gate. With so much of Prussia’s history preserved in one place, it’s no surprise that so many places in Potsdam are UNESCO world heritage sites!
It’s not all parks and palaces though, Potsdam has a lot of Cold War history, too. You’ll leave Berlin and enter Potsdam by walking over the ‘Bridge of Spies’, where the USA and the Soviet Union swapped agents during the Cold War. In the town centre you will see the site of a former Stasi prison, and your guide will take you to Cecilienhof, where Stalin, Churchill, and Roosevelt met to decide Europe’s fate at the Potsdam Conference.
The tour finishes with a trip to the breathtaking palace and garden of Sanssouci. Inspired by Versailles, this was Frederick the Great’s favourite palace. You will be free to stay and enjoy the gardens after the tour, or accompany the guide back to Berlin.
