The Batten tour is named after Jean Batten, New Zealand's most famous aviator.  She made a number of record-breaking solo flights across the world including the first-ever solo flight from England to New Zealand in 1936. Auckland’s International Airport is also named in her honour and one of the planes she used is hanging from the ceiling inside the terminal.

Start your tour from Auckland and take in all the highlights of the North Island from Paihia to Wellington, and if you're flying solo like Jean our tours are the perfect way for you to travel the way you want with a small group of like-minded people who you'll be calling friends in no time
