Fly from Dublin to Croatia for a fantastic week's holiday exploring this beautiful country, with three full day tours to Dubrovnik, Split & Medjugorje included. Departures in October.

We are thrilled to present a tour to Croatia, located along the stunning Adriatic coast. With over 1,700 kilometers of coastline, countless charming islands, and one of Europe’s finest climates, Croatia makes for an ideal getaway. Our base will be the picturesque town of Makarska, a true gem of the Adriatic. Founded by the ancient Greeks, this town boasts a traditional harbor, steeped in a rich fishing heritage, and serves as a gateway to the breathtaking islands scattered along the coastline.

Makarska is set around a striking horseshoe-shaped bay, framed by dramatic mountains. This vibrant town features chic cafes, restaurants, bars, market stalls, and shops. Its narrow, stone-paved streets and iconic terracotta rooftops are steeped in history, with notable landmarks like the 16th-century Franciscan Monastery and St. Mark’s Cathedral in the main square adding to its charm.

Enjoy a full-day excursion to Medjugorje, one of the most famous places of pilgrimage in the world. The stunning countryside in this region makes this a great place to visit, even if you are not religious. You'll also explore the ancient walled city of Dubrovnik and its distinctive Old Town.

Day 1 - Fly to Croatia

We depart Dublin Airport for our direct flight to Split. On arrival we will be met by our Sunway tour leader and then we will be transferred by coach to the hotel in Makarska where we will be staying for the next 7 nights.

Day 2 - Walking tour of Makarska

After breakfast our tour guide will take us on a short walking tour of Makarska and there is so much to experience. Makarska as the name suggests is the largest town in the Makarska Riviera and the region is dominated by large stretches of unspoilt beaches, crystal clear waters and small, picturesque fishing villages. Our guide will point out the major attractions plus some favourite bars and restaurants, plus the best shopping area. The afternoon is free to soak up the atmosphere of this beautiful town.

Day 3 - Medjugorje

After enjoying breakfast, we travel inland for a full day excursion to Medjugorje, over the border in Bosnia Herzegovina. This truly spiritual place, is one of the most famous places of pilgrimage in the world attracting millions of visitors since 1981, when local children claimed they saw a vision of the Virgin Mary. Even if you are not religious you will enjoy the lovely drive through the Croatian countryside. You will be able to use Euro in Medjugorje but remember to bring your passport for this excursion.

Day 4 - Day at leisure

We have a free day to soak up the atmosphere of Makarska.

Day 5 - Dubrovnik

After enjoying breakfast, we travel to the old walled city of Dubrovnik. It is known for its distinctive Old Town encircled with massive stone walls completed in the 16th century. It is hard to imagine anyone becoming jaded by its marble streets, baroque buildings, and the endless shimmer of the Adriatic Sea. “Those who seek paradise on Earth should come to Dubrovnik” said George Bernard Shaw. The coach journey to Dubrovnik is one of the most stunning in Europe. We return to our hotel in the late afternoon giving you plenty of time to enjoy this historic city. Remember to bring your passport for this excursion.

Day 6 - Day at leisure

Another day of leisure to enjoy the many delights of Makarska and its surroundings. Our tour guide can recommend a boat trip to the neighbouring islands if you wish.

Day 7 - Day at leisure

Free Day to relax and pick up some last minute souvenirs.

Day 8 - Split & Fly home

After breakfast we will check out from the hotel. Today we take another stunning drive north along the coat passing the Dalmatian islands of Hvar and Brac and proceed to the ancient city of Split. The old part is built in and around the Palace of the Roman Emperor Diokletian who had it built in the beginning of the 4th century. We will be taking a walk through the old part of the town which is famous for its Roman remains and home to one of the oldest cathedrals in the world, the Cathedral of St Duje. We will have some free time before we transfer to the Airport for our return flight back to Dublin.
