Tallinn's renowned Christmas market is held annually in the Town Hall Square. Recognised as Europe's Best Christmas Market in 2019, it continues to be celebrated as one of Europe's top destinations for the festive season. In 2023, Tallinn was named the seventh most desirable city in Europe to visit by Wanderlust travel magazine.

Starting from late November, visitors flock to the square to wish under the majestic Christmas tree towering above. December in Tallinn brings a cheerful atmosphere with bright lights that adorn pretty churches, shops, and city streets. Wander through the charming wooden stalls that surround that grand tree at the heart of the square. Just a stone's throw away is the medieval Old Town.

Here, one can discover unique handicrafts; from cosy woolen mittens and sweaters to delicate wooden ornaments, perfect for memorable gifts. Indulge in a cup of glögi, whether spiked or non-alcoholic, savour a gingerbread cookie, or enjoy hearty fare like sausage, potatoes, and sauerkraut. For children, Santa awaits, also serving as a multilingual host for weekend performances held on the stage.

This year, Tallinn's Christmas Markets will open from 11th November to 27th December 2024.
