Ports of call: Civitavecchia, Italy; Mykonos, Greece; Kusadasi, Turkey; Santorini, Greece; Naples, Italy; Civitavecchia, Italy
Fly to Rome and board MSC Divina at the city's Civitavecchia port for an unforgettable week-long Mediterranean cruise, visiting Greece and Turkey before cruising back to Italy.
Cruise to the wonderful island of Mykonos in Greece, before continuing to the Turkish town of Kusadasi, your gateway to UNESCO World Heritage sites like Ephesus. Your next port of call will be the picturesque Greek island of Santorini.
Cruise next to Naples, from where you can visit Vesuvius and the buried town of Pompeii. Finally, sail back to Civitavecchia, where your cruise comes to an end. Want to extend your holiday with a stay in Rome? Ask our experts for more information.
When sailing on an MSC cruise to the Mediterranean Sea, Mýkonos is the quintessential image of the Cyclades. In summer most people head out to the beaches during the day, so early morning or late afternoon are the best times to wander the maze of narrow streets. The labyrinthine design was supposed to confuse the pirates who plagued Mýkonos in the eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries, and it has the same effect on today’s visitors.
You can’t say you have been to Greece on holiday without seeing the natural wonder of Santoríni. As our MSC cruise ship manoeuvres into the great caldera of Santoríni (Thíra), the land seems to rise up and clamp around it. Gaunt, sheer cliffs loom hundreds of metres above the deep blue sea, nothing grows or grazes to soften the awesome view. The only colours are the reddish-brown, black and grey pumice layers on the cliff face of this, the largest island in the mini-archipelago.
A witness to some of the world’s most powerful empires, including Roman, Byzantine, and Ottoman, Turkey is abundant with ancient relics and UNESCO World Heritage sites. It’s a country renowned for its sweeping ocean vistas, bustling souks, archaeological wonders, and stark Saharan landscapes. Kusadasi and Ephesus, two of its seaside towns, are both an MSC Mediterranean Cruises destination — one a glamorous beach resort overlooking the glittering Aegean Sea, the other an age-old commercial centre full of captivating antiquities.
