Fly from Cork to Cairo via Heathrow and spend three nights in Cairo before setting sail on a three-night Nile River cruise.
You'll be met at Cairo Airport and transferred to the Cairo Pyramids hotel. You'll stay three nights here in a classic room on a bed & breakfast basis.
The Cairo Pyramids resort is just 2 kilometres from the pyramids at Giza and around 15 km from the centre of Cairo. It is designed in a laid-back fashion as a bungalow holiday villageand is surrounded by lush gardens in an ideal setting for unforgettable holidays.
Fully renovated in 2002, there are a total of 240 guestrooms. In the lobby area of this air-conditioned establishment guests will find a reception desk manned around the clock, a hotel safe and a currency exchange facility. Guests are invited to enjoy the advantages of truly mobile internet access from all areas of the resort, through the wireless high speed internet connection, avoiding the problem of looking for access points.
The very popular Le Gourmet, a 24-hour international restaurant, is situated in the main lobby of the hotel. In addition, the hotel foyer features a lobby café and a take-away shop in which guests may buy fresh bakery and pastry items, cold platters, light sandwiches, drinks and Mövenpick ice cream. For younger guests there is a playground available. The standard rooms are equipped with an en suite bathroom with hairdryer and a bath tub, furthermore a telephone, a direct dial telephone, colour cable TV with CNN or news and remote control, radio, electric adapters, high speed Internet access, a minibar, a hire safe and a writing desk with a lamp are provided in all accommodation as standard.
On day two you'll be escorted on a private, full-day excursion to the Egyptian Museum, Citadel, Old Cairo and the Bazaar. The following day you'll enjoy a private, full-day excursion to the Pyramids, Sphinx, Sakkara and Memphis. Lunch is included on both these day trips.
On day four you'll take an internal flight from Cairo to Aswan, where you'll board the HS Radmis II for your three night cruise. You'll stay in an upper deck cabin as you travel from Aswan to Luxor.
Highlights of this cruise include visits to the high dam, Temple of Philae and the temple dedicated to Sobek and Haeroris in KomOmbo. In Edfu, visit the Horus Temple before continuing to Luxor. Here, you'll visit the East Bank to view the Karnak and Luxor temples. On the West Bank you'll visit the Valley Of The Kings and the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut.
After three nights onboard the cruise ship, you'll disembark at Luxor and take an internal flight to Cairo. You'll stay one night at Le Passage Hotel & Casino on a bed & breakfast basis.
Le Passage Hotel is only 2 minutes from the Cairo International Airport in Cairo’s Heliopolis district. The hotel offers fine restaurants, a discotheque and casino.
Guestrooms at Le Passage are equipped with individually controlled air conditioning and satellite TVs. Rooms also includes in-room safe deposit boxes, minibars and a hairdryers. 24-hour room service is available.
Guests can enjoy a swim in one of the 2 pools, heated during the winter months. Guests have access to floodlit tennis courts, volleyball courts, and a jogging track. There is a fully-equipped gym and of range of massage and body treatments at the spa. A popular breakfast is served at the 24-hour Orangerie Restaurant. Fine meals are also served at the Le Passage’s onsite Chinese, Italian, Egyptian and international restaurants. Guests can enjoy snacks and cocktails poolside at the Pool Restaurant. Cairo’s city centre is 10 kilometres from Le Passage Hotel.
On your final morning, enjoy breakfast at the hotel before taking the airport transfer for your flight home.
