A really lovely itinerary in which you will enjoy the vibrant cities of Buenos Aires and Santiago where you will enjoy great food, shopping and you can also visit the vineyards in the countryside outside of Santiago. You will relax by and explore the Lake district of Argentina and the largest lake in Chile in Puerto Varas. One of the highlights of the holiday is the ferry crossing between the countries taking you into the heart of the Lake district and countryside!

Day 1

Arrive Buenos Aires and on arrival you will be met and transferred to the Savoy Hotel for 3 nights B&B

Day 2

Shared Half Day City Tour of Buenos Aires

During this tour you will drive close to Colon Theatre, one of the world's best known opera houses and the cultural pride of the "porteños" (as the inhabitants of Buenos Aires are called). Visit the famous Avenida de Mayo that runs into the Plaza De Mayo, surrounded by the Casa Rosada (Government House), the Metropolitan Cathedral and the Cabildo (first City Hall, built during Spanish rule).

At the othe end of Avenida de Mayo you find the Congress building. We will include a stop an inside visit of the Metropolitan Cathedral, this imposing Neo-classical building is Argentina´s main catholic building.

We continue to San Telmo, an historical neighborhoo and the eldest district of Buenos Aires. Our next stop is La Boca, a most colorful area with the famous street Caminito. Driving along 9 de Julio Avenue, the widest avenue of the world, you see the Colon Theatre, a famous Opera House that stages the most important artists and musicians from all over the world.

Continue to Palermo with its beautiful parks, the City Zoo, Botanical Garden, Argentine Horse Track and National Polo Fields. Palermo is well-known for its  artificial lakes. At the end of the tour you will visit Recoleta area, one of the city’s most glamorous spots.

At the cemetery of Recoleta you will find the grave of Eva Duarte, known in the whole world as Eva Perón (Evita). The cemetery is considered to be one of the most impressive monuments of Argentina.

Day 4

Transfer to the airport for your flight to Bariloche and on arrival transfer to the Design Suites Hotel for 3 nights B&B

Day 5

Small Circuit Bariloche (approx. 3,5 hours)
This excursion gives you the first impression of this nice area. We will drive along the forests, lakes and mountains, which surround Bariloche. This is a trip to the most spectacular views and into the wood's deepest scenes. We start the tour from Bariloche to the southeast along Ezequiel Bustillo Avenue, bordering the Nahuel Huapi Lake on a winding, all paved road.

After crossing the residential district Melipal, we arrive at Playa Bonita, located just in front of Huemul Island, at the fifth mile (km 8) of the road. Further on we reach the barracks of the Mounted Engineers Company and the Andean Instruction Department, nearby we will see the Atomic Centre headquarters, where research on nuclear energy is done. Continuing along this road for another 10 km, and after passing through some beautiful scenery, you arrive at Campanario Hill. An optional chair lift takes you to the top of the hill (1050 m / 3.445 ft) from where you can enjoy one of the most impressive views of this region.

You will see the lakes Nahuel Huapi and Moreno, the Trebol lagoon, St Peter’s Peni57nsula, Llao Llao, Victoria Island and the surrounding mountains Otto, Lopez, Goye and Catedral, apart from the whole city of Bariloche. Afterwards, you will travel to the Llao Llao Peninsula, where the small and delicate St Edwards Chapel and Llao Llao Hotel, two architectural jewels, will take our fancy.

We cross the bridge over the Angostura River that joins the Nahuel Huapi Lake with the
Moreno Lake, and pass by López Bay. Finally you get to the Panoramic Point, a belvedere with a magnificent view of the Moreno Lake and the Llao Llao peninsula. Return to Bariloche.

Andean Crossing Experience – Bariloche / Puerto Varas 1 Day (approx. 13 hours)
Departure early morning to Lake Crossing Terminal and Puerto Panuelo. Embark the
catamaran for one hour navigation of the Blest arm of the Nahuel Huapi Lake, until reaching Puerto Blest. Start a bus trip to Puerto Alegre which borders the Frías River during 3 km (2 mi). On board a motor ship you sail Frías Lake for 15 minutes, from where you shall have the first view of Tronador Hill. Upon arrival at Puerto Frías you clear Argentine customs and proceed on a bus through lush Andean vegetation to the Vicente Pérez Rosales pass and then 29 km (18 mi) to the Chilean customs at Peulla.

After customs, it is a short ride to Peulla. Optional lunch at Peulla. Then you board the Lagos Andinos Catamaran and set out to cross the waters of the Todos Los Santos Lake. On our trip you will be able to view Mount Puntiagudo and the impressive Osorno volcano. You will arrive to Petrohué, from where you continue by bus until our last stop, the Petrohue rapids. Bordering LLanquihue Lake, you get to Puerto Varas.

On arrival transfer to the Hotel Cabana del Lago for 2 nights B&B

Transfer to Puerto Montt for flight to Santiago and on arrival you will be met and transferred to the Fundador Hotel for 3 nights B&B

Day 10

Half day city tour through Santiago (4h)

Santiago de Chile is a city of contrasts with traces of its Colonial past mixed with the
ultramodern, high-rise buildings of the financial center; Chile’s capital will surprise you. This tour offers you the opportunity to see this eclectic mix for yourself.

The tour begins by heading south through the downtown área, to get to the heart of the city. From here you head along the famous Alameda, Santiago’s colorful main avenue, were you’ll see some importants iconic constructions such Chilean University, San Francisco Church and the Santa Lucia Hill, site of Santiago’s foundation in 1541.

Then you continue towards the Plaza de Armas and the cathedral. Very close from here is the famous Central Market, which is the main market for fresh fish and seafood, an interesting building, dating back to the end of the 19th century: It is a steel construction, built in London and brought to Chile by ship. Afterwards, you continue the tour crossing the Mapocho River to reach the bohemian Bellavista district on the way to the San Cristóbal Hill. From one of the hill’s view points, you will have the finest views of Santiago and the Andes.

To round off the tour, you will pass through the modern residential areas of the city with
their daring architecture to come back to your hotel.

Day 11

Day at leisure - we would recommend adding on a winery tour to the many vineyards in the countryside outside of Santiago. Ask us for details.

Day 12 

Transfer to the airport for flight home or choose to extend your stay.
