Ports of Call: Dublin, Ireland; St Mary's Isle of Scilly (UK); St. Peter Port, Guernsey, Channel Islands; Le Havre, France; Rouen, France; Liverpool, United Kingdom; Belfast, Northern Ireland

Here is a fantastic opportunity to really appreciate some of the wonderful scenery, fascinating history and ancient cultures of the British Isles. Cruising the beautiful River Seine to Rouen, ‘city of a hundred spires’, adds a little French flair to complete this wonderful cruising holiday.

Set sail from Cobh, Co Cork and sail to the Isles of Scilly, your first port of call.

Britain’s only island archipelago, the magical Isles of Scilly lie just 28 miles off the coast of Cornwall. St Mary’s, the largest of the five inhabited islands, is a delight with white sand beaches, tranquil waters and stunning seascapes. The attractive village of Hugh Town, considered the ‘capital’, is the hub of the islands’ activity.

The second largest and the only privately-owned island is Tresco, where, in the glorious Abbey Gardens, some 20,000 exotic species thrive in the sub-tropical climate. Optional excursions explore both St. Mary’s and Tresco, two of the beautiful cluster of islands that are worlds apart from everyday life.

For over 800 years Castle Cornet has stood guard over St. Peter Port. The attractive town is a delight with cobbled streets, steep stairways and alleyways winding their way down between the houses to a picturesque waterfront of grey and white stone buildings. Guernsey is geographically closer to France, yet loyal to the British crown, and this is reflected in the wonderful Anglo-French ambience around the town.

The second largest of the Channel Islands has a wonderful coastline with beautiful bays, and pastoral scenery that includes the handsome, much-prized Guernsey dairy cows. The tax-free haven is perfect for duty-free shopping.

After a day at sea your next port of call is France. One of France’s main seaports, Le Havre sits on the English Channel at the mouth of the River Seine and evokes France’s post-war energy and optimism. Following extensive damage by Allied bombing during World War II, the centre of Le Havre was completely rebuilt, and in 2005 its celebrated modern architecture became a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Le Havre is the perfect place to explore Normandy’s beautiful countryside panoramas.

Your next stop, Rouen, lies some 75 miles from the Seine estuary and is the historic capital of Normandy. Victor Hugo called Rouen ‘the city of a hundred spires’. Its Old Town is a delightful maze of narrow, cobblestone streets lined with fine half-timbered houses and wonderful gothic churches including the magnificent Cathedrale Notre Dame and the Eglise St. Maclou.

Rouen’s Place du Vieux-Marche is famous as the site where Joan of arc was burned at the stake in 1431. Further upriver is the village of Giverny and the home of Claude Monet, who captured the beauty of Rouen in many of his paintings.

After a day at sea your next port of call is Liverpool where you can enjoy the many sights of the city including a choice of Beatles Tours.

Sail to Belfast where your cruise comes to an end.

The Bahamian flagged Magellan with her gleaming profile, beautiful wood type decks and distinctive CMV livery is an impressive ship.

She will accommodate about 1250 guests within a warm and friendly atmosphere that reflects a truly great cruise experience. Magellan is fully stabilised and air conditioned and has nine passenger decks serviced by eight lifts.

Magellan boasts a spacious interior, with wide corridors and expansive wooden deck areas providing comfortable surroundings for guests. However, the ship still provides an intimate atmosphere, with a huge range of leisure facilities, including bars and lounges, as well as multiple dining options.

Magellan Leisure Facilities

Magellan offers a traditional maritime experience in spacious surroundings. Her wide range of public facilities include the impressive Waldorf and Kensington Restaurants offering two sitting dining or the more informal Raffles Bistro.

There are comfortable lounge areas throughout including the two-tier theatre style Magellan Show Lounge, and a wide range of other amenities. Out on deck, there are two swimming pools, three whirlpools and expansive deck areas.

Restaurants

Our maitre’d and his attentive waiting staff will welcome you to the elegant Waldorf or Kensington Restaurants where you can opt for a full English breakfast, savour a leisurely five-course lunch and enjoy a delightful dinner every day of your cruise. Whilst breakfasts and lunches are generally served in the restaurant on an open seating basis, two fixed time sittings are operated for dinner in the evening.

As a casual alternative, the light and airy Raffles Bistro is open every day for buffet style breakfast, lunches and dinner. Here informality is the key and you can feel free to drop in without any ceremony.

The Pool Deck lends itself particularly well to al fresco meals so a buffet breakfast or lunch from the Bistro can be served up with a complimentary ocean view!

Lounges

Why not settle down and enjoy wonderful panoramic ocean views from the comfortable lounge areas along the mall on the Magellan Deck, or relax in a secluded corner of the delightful Hamptons Lounge Bar where the head barman will soon get to know your favourite drink.

At the very heart of Magellan is the stylish Captain’s Club, a popular place to meet fellow passengers. To start your evening you might opt for a pre-dinner drink here and enjoy a few of your favourite melodies.

After dinner the show team would enjoy the pleasure of your company in the two-tier, Magellan theatre-style Show Lounge as our talented show team display their talents in a glittering ‘big-show’.

Enjoy more evening entertainment in Sinatra’s, the Captain’s Club and Hampton’s or enjoy a drink in the Taverner’s Pub.

Wellness Centre

The beautifully appointed Wellness Centre is nature’s secret of well being on Magellan. It offers hairdressing & beauty treatments spanning across its state of the art treatment rooms, relaxation area, sauna and extensive menu of massage treatments. Why not indulge yourself with life’s most perfect gifts: relaxation, invigoration and rejuvenation. Treat yourself to a spa package and design your own special day.

Other Facilities

How about a few hands of cards in the Card Room? Or immerse yourself in a good book from the well-stocked Livingstone Library. Then, browse through the shopping gallaria and photo gallery for a few memories to take home of your time on board Magellan.
